Elisa de Anda, born June 14, 1962 in Mexico, passed away on March 9, 2026. She was the eldest of six siblings, the beloved daughter of Yolanda de Anda, and the devoted mother of Brian and Luis de Anda.

Elisa spent her early years in Mexico before coming to the United States, where Chicago became the place she built her life. As a teenager, she carried responsibilities far beyond her age—working, caring, and holding her family together through hardship after hardship. Her strength was forged early, and it never left her.
She later met Luis Bahena, and together they raised two sons who became the center of her world. They made a home in many corners of the Chicago area, each place marked by her resilience and her fierce love.
Elisa was a tough and caring sister, a protective mother, and a woman who met every challenge with tenacity and heart. Her love was not always soft, but it was deep, and unwavering.
Her spirit lives on through her sons, Brian and Luis, and through her grandchildren—Jade, Alexander, Lenay, and Angel—who carry her strength and her fire forward.
She will be missed more than words can hold and remembered in every life she shaped with her courage and her love.
